OT, BT WAN problem

Yes: Off Topic, But Trains. And it wouldn’t fit anywhere else.

Some time ago I had five IP cameras set up to be viewed over the Internet — all aimed at different portions of the layout.
Anyone in the congregation really familiar with port forwarding? I managed to have it work without a hitch with the old Belkin router, but can’t get it to do that with the replacement router (Netgear).

Yes, the test app at DynDNS sees port 80 as open.

So as not to plug the forum I’d prefer PM. Thanks!

Email on the way

Add me into the email trail, I may be able to help also, I’m using the netgear r7000 and use port forwarding.

Greg

Thank you Gentlemen.
I’ll gather the hardware & software specifics and forward the details.

I have it narrowed down to the blinkedy-blankedy JAVA plug in. In other words I can now get through to the camera, but depending on the browser - different in every one of the four I tried - it comes up with variations on the theme. YellYell

A common problem. Several of the cloud based software packages I use at work are Java based. They make one minor change in the software and all of a sudden my client sees nothing but a blank screen. Usually downloading the latest Java fixes the problem for me. I don’t really like having Java enabled but it seems I have no choice lately.

Hi John,

It’s more peculiar than that, rest to follow by mail to you and Greg. At least the port forwarding puzzle has been resolved. SmileAs I keep writing “some days one can’t win”.
