OT: Awesome photo!

I just saw this pic in the news and it’s too cool not to share it. It’s an amazing, kind of scary, photo of lightning striking all around the ash cloud from an erupting volcano in Chile. Has a real “end of the world” look:

(The original link no longer works, so here’s the pic itself.)

Photo of the Week??? That’s a a Photo of the Year…!!

Well, it’s gone, replaced by a photo of casey anthony.

Perhaps you could rightclick on the photo itself.

Looks like a typical evening in my workshop

If you look real hard, holding your jaw just right, you can see…

Wow! What a photo!

Vic, I know just what you mean. :stuck_out_tongue:

That is wild

That cloud has made it across to here and has grounded the airlines down south now for 3 days.

The photo makes me think of something Dana Carvey’s character, The Church Lady, might say: “OOooo! Look at that ash cloud. Looks like a face. It’s like a face I know. Could it be? Doesn’t it just look like . . . SATAN?!!!”

Just my warped wit,
David Meashey

Dave, it looks more like ET

I think I see Elvis, or is that the Pope? Awesome photo.

David, you and the lady are misstaken.
have another look! - no nose! it clearly is lord Voldemort!

a sky like that gives me the creeps. everytime we have had something similar hereabouts, it meant work for me. first as firefighter, then as insurance manager.

Lord Voldemort (Moldymort)? - The Devil? - What’s the difference? Just kidding! If you have ever read William Blake’s Paradise Lost, it would appear that the Devil actually has more redeeming features than Lord Voldemort (or Alan Rickman’s portrayal of the Sheriff of Notingham in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves).

Mainly I thought that the profuse lightening around an ash cloud with prominent protrusions near its top (like horns) gave it the malevolent guise of a devil’s head, but it could just as easily be a sheep.

Have fun,
David Meashey

Straight on it kinda looks like Big Bird to me…with twigs stuck on his head…

I was kinda thinking that it looks like my cat, just after I’ve given him a bath.

If looks could kill …

steve, the face and the expressed mood might be similar, but the background is no match.
