No comment LOL

I found a pennyon the floor in front of the computer. Only 9 cents to go!

I have to take today off and operate the club layout!

Club layout? Fairplex?

Looking good Doug. Very nice weathered finish too.

Good to see you getting it done Doug. Nice work

Is it done yet?

We belong to two clubs. We belong to the Upland garden railroad group which is a great group but only meets once a year. Many of the members belong to Fairplex.

Our other group is the Lancaster Northwest Railroad group (lnwrr.org). The club, in the last year, built and launched a layout at a nursery in Palmdale. We run from about 10 or 11 to 3:30 on Saturdays and Sundays. Next time you get down this way you’ll have to visit.

Actually David, I may get the majority of it done this week. We’ll see!

Cool!

Doug, Wow!! I thought Fairplex and the folks out at Living Desert were the only club type atmospheres… I will have to come out some day. Back in the HO days, I belonged to two clubs and that was quite the task to haul all my stuff around, can’t imagine large scale.

At least we’re not larger scale where we have to have a truck to carry it around!

My ore chute is going to need doors in a couple days. I don’t remember seeing the doors on an ore chute in my ghost town vusits…

My thought is they would simply slide up and down on the front of the ore chute. They would be accessible from the ground via ladder because it would be a job that the train crew would do.

Any other thoughts?

Why wouldn’t the doors be accessable with a pull rope/rod and a bell crank ?

On my coal tipple I used 2 H shaped pieces with a piece of plastic between them for the door. It’s operated from the tender with a pull chain. The chute is lowered with a pull chain also.

The ore chute is progressing.

Doug, I’d swear that was my work table under your ore chute  Ralph

I have several tables that look like that! That one has a little less junk on it than the one behind it!
