Large Scale Central

One of those peculiar facts

Hi all,

Yep Easter Monday is a hit or miss Holiday. Here in the North Okanagan it was miss i.e. the UPS Store was closed and I just had to get that shipment off to Germany. Which meant I got to drive to Kelowna - the guys down there were busy at work!

But getting to the point, driving to Kelowna, all 50+km each way, means making the best of it. Today it was a visit to Chapters to see what “new and exiting” reading matter there was.

The loot includes a slim book on the Kettle Valley Railway with lots of pictures of trestles, trestles and more trestles. Of course I just love it!
An issue of the Continental Modeller - the mag out of “Jolly Ole England” with the name that says, “let’s set this apart, shall we” e.g. all kinds of MRR matter from around the globe - with enough interesting things to make me buy it.
And this year’s issue of “Model Railroad Planning”. Nope, they didn’t stray from the line, this would have been the first year with a LS theme but it didn’t happen, yet.
OTOH perhaps it was in the 2004 issue, the one which is missing from my “collection”.
Of course they can only publish what the contributors supply, we all know that.

While in Kelowna it was also time to check out bandsaw blades, slim pickings for the required length, but I got a 3/8" and a 1/8" “tester”.

If it wouldn’t have been pouring rain I would have ventured down to the industrial district. The local that went down this morning had about 40 cars in tow. Oh, did I ever mention that I have a prime view from the office? Look across the lake and see the trains trundle by. In my book that’s as good as it gets!

Ummmmm Didn;t Tony Koester print one once upon a Time for a Gscale layout he planned…and then went with an extention of the AM instead???
