Wow, this is certainly an example of a bunch of old farts sitting at the station talking about how funny and interesting their prior conversations have been. Seems to me, it is a little like watching grass grow or chrome rust.

No boredom here, just amazed at the subject.
Let’s try again:
What is an example of “warmed over” – is this request an example?
Me? I have no objection to any new information or interpretation of a previous topic being added to a posting.
Granted, if those two qualifiers are not met repetition is not needed.
Likely, when the original posting topic is bridged to other topics, a new post heading would be helpful. Now, the bridged topic becomes a choice.

There MUST be a train story out there!
Doug, there are train stories out there.
Lots of them, very few (if any) with a communality to the WTC or mosques.
Here goes: How hard do they work at CN? Hard enough that some in the upper layers believe you can get from Kamloops to Vancouver in 3 hours with 159 container cars in the consist.
My comment to the engineer: “Better get a pusher with an after burner, you’ll need it”.
Oh yeah, it is mostly downhill, but that doesn’t mean much in BC.
Ric Golding said:Hehe Ric! Did you ever see the old Henry Weinhard's beer commercial? Several ol' coots sitting on a depot bench surmising about the bosses coming shipment of Weinhard's. One ol' fart: "Used to run Henry Weinhards down in Sedalia". "Long Horns they was". "Or was it short horns?" "Sorta medium sized horns?" While the others just sat there and shook their heads.. :)

Now back to something important…! Do you think grass grows faster in the east than in the west?
What always suprised me is these kind of topics get more comments then someones kitbash or RR pictures. There is something wrong with this.

Richard,
You asked - "Do you think grass grows faster in the east than in the west? "
I don’t know about faster, but it does grow earlier because daylight is earlier, although the time zones makes it seem different.
Sorry guys,
I didn’t mean to cause such a long discussion.
I was the original whiner. Bob was kind enough not to mention my name.
If you want details of the incident (on another forum), send me a PM.
Sincerely,

And to think, that all I was trying to do when I “Rejuvinated” that old thread, was to bring it forward so we could all “Enjoy” it again.
There were no politics involved, and no track destroyed in the action, in fact, while watching the “Fun” created; I’ve been able to chuckle away, while body mounting Kadee 820 couplers on a dozen pieces of rolling stock.
Funny how some topics bring out the best in some people, and also the worst. We should all look in the looking glass a few times a week, to see if we can still raise a faint smile…
…and some, need a heavy dose of a good holy water, before they take life so seriously.
I know…yes…very well…that I should look very closely at what I post…before I hit the "Post key…but I’m human…
Hey Padre,
Taking life seriously would mean getting excited about all the rotten news in the media. Best avoided! At all costs!
@ Ralph,
Where we walk we encounter bear scat, too. Try not to step in it and keep on walking!

When we have a train wreck usually (unless it has been a dive from a height - open bridge or similar - we then pick up the stock, place it on the rails, give a sigh or oath and off we go again.
No hordes of emergency vehicles, investigators with clip boars or lawyers ever appear.
HJ;
You may be contacted by one, Barry Birkette, of Ottawa. He is one of the Saturday morning gang here on the IPP&W…he is house broken, and will not soil the rugs.
If he causes any problems; please let me know.
Hi Padre,
If this falls into September (after Labour day) it should work, prior to that … forget it!
I’m working six day weeks, minimum of 9 hours every day ( more often than not 12 or more) to get a special project finished on time.
Semi-retirement suffered a major interruption!
Only respite is rail fanning on Friday and even that was off the schedule the past three weeks.
Oh yeah, Empress 2816 ran Lake Louise to Revelstoke on Friday. What a blast, video to follow. We picked up at Golden, later heard it was raining in Alberta and across Kicking Horse. Gorgeous weather on the BC section.
Just think Hans – with all that working – you can buy lots of trains!
