Large Scale Central

Old Line Railroad in Etowah, Tennessee

Has anyone ridden the "Old Line" in eastern Tennessee? This looks like a great way to spend a day. Also, the helix that you travel to raise the line some 450+ feet in two loops looks like a great prototype to model if you need that sort of thing.

Not yet Steve. but I plan on it one of these days.

We’ve seen this RR on local Nashville television…but alas my wife and I have not ridden this line yet. Its about 3-4 hours away from our home in Clarksville, Tennesse.

Cool!!! We’re There!

oh, wait, it’s a 5 hour drive from here…never-mind; and to think the cost/person is about 1/2 that of the GSMRR. (a real consideration when there are 7 riders)

Dit it last year.

If you ride it during the summer months, it will be hard to see a lot of the track when going into the spiral.

Good train ride, long bus trip from Etowah to train as you do not depart from the town.

On our bucket list for this year. 2hrs from here. Later RJD

Hmmm, I’m planning on being in Pigeon Forge,TN in June. By Mapquest it is a 2 hr drive.

That’s about right.

I am 30 minutes from it.
