Ok! Let's see your Christmas Layouts

I am working up the video and pictures of the Redmond Creek RailRoad Santa Claus train and will post shortly. However, I will start with this almost disaster just 30 minutes before our annual holiday party started yesterday. The camera got caught on a low branch of the tree (that I was not aware was there as the train was clearing it just fine without the camera) and not only almost pulled the tree over, but proceeded to derail 3 of the cars and ripped the roof off the caboose. I had to pull the couch away from the wall in order to crawl behind the tree to grab everything. The Magic Motorman got so whacked from this derailment that it kept blowing fuses for the next 30 minutes. Wasn’t sure if I was going to be running a train for our party or not. But all turned out well.

I will be posting the pictures and other videos shortly.

Isn’t that the way it’s suppose to happen…??

Here is a 7MB video of the still images. Still working on the actual movie file. http://jollyrogersmotorcycleclub.com/images/vids/Christmas2007.wmv

Enjoy

Here is another video Video 15.75MB (Broadband) http://jollyrogersmotorcycleclub.com/images/vids/PolarExpressRRCR2007.wmv Video (3.2MB) (Dial-Up) http://jollyrogersmotorcycleclub.com/images/vids/PolarExpressRCRR2007_2.wmv All Aboard!!

Heres what I set down, before the tree of course, the board is a wood tabletop with a felt base to keep the sound down, the track has a cork bed under also to keep noise to a minimum.

I since found that the loco wouldnt pull all 5 cars, the batteries for the caboose lights (2 Cs) added enough weight to drag the whole thing to a stop with the loco wheels spinning :open_mouth: So I have removed the caboose, and have since converted the tender into a snowplow. SOm the train looks once again like this:

Finally got the indoor layout (next to the tree) done last night. Took a few shots today before the family showed up and chaos ensued. Two loops - A Christmas Annie with Aristo shortie cars and a partially repainted Sierra car on the 8 foot oval and a wiggly loop of Bachmann track for an eggliner.

Double-heading 'round the Christmas Tree, with the grandson.

Ok getting ready to put the Christmas layout away for the season. But not before getting a shot of the Redmond Creek Logging Climax taking the right of way from the Christmas train.

Enjoy!

Well with some lumps of coal I’d have a start at a live steam engine project.
