This is a documentation of a restoration/conversion of a Vandy tender for an Aristo Live Steam Mikado. It started as a horrible mess from a previous owners’ attempt to put the live steam Mikado’s fuel, RC and sound systems in a Vandy tender. I’ll spare you the horrors I started with and give you the project from the stripped tender shell.
That is what I started with. Here is a series of pics of he process to restore the tender somewhat, modify it for the Mikado’s fuel,RC and sounds systems and convert it to an oil Vandy tender.
