Large Scale Central

Oh and I finished this one at last

Wheels, modified wood burner cab and motion from a pair of Sams Annies. Ditto domes, bell, pumps, generator etc Tender cut down from a Connie and there you have it, inspired by Westerhaur Lumber No 6

Cheers

Very nice Rod

Your use of B&W and low angle makes for a very convincing photo. At first I was thinking this was the prototype and you hadn’t yet posted the model photo. I had to look close to find the clues that it was in fact the model. My first clue was the road name, then I started to find others.

Glad to see someone actually build this idea. I recall someone floating the thought a few years ago, and perhaps posting pictures of the beginnings of a project.

Incredible, Rod, just amazing. More photos, please. I’ve been saving up parts from this and that to build something similar, probably Rayonier 120, since I like the doghouse on the tender.

Again, fabulous job!

Ok, as soon as I get some more batteries for the camera I will. Oh, and the Sepia version

and theres some stuff here. http://www.smegworld.org.uk/spaf/mallet/log/malletlog.htm cheers

Nice job, love them logging mallets !

Beautiful! But what is a “Sam’s Annie”? (I know that an Annie is a Bachmann’s Anniversary edition. It’s the “Sam’s” part I don’t get.)

IT was a Christmas set Anniversary 4-6-0 that Sams club did a while back Ray, I manged to buy two when I visited the US. They had an Annie, Box car, gondola and a combine, some crappy track (which I left behind) and retailed for $130. Currently the chepest Annies in the UK are about $250, and I mean just for the loco. Here’s what happend to the combines as I had one already

and the final consist, full brake, 3 pax and a combine, the last 3 are LGB Santa Fe’s and need to have the top lettering changed at some point.

Oh btw, if you are intending to make a mallet I stongly advocate a pivoting rear frame … cheers

Beautiful loco and work Rod , just beautiful , looks real .

Ty Dennis, it has a special place in my heart as mum passed away while I was building it.

Cheers
