This is an excellent bit of timewasting. One can scan the crowd and close up on basically anyone with incredible detail. Word has it that the high definition photo was taken so that anyone within rifle shot could be identified, if an assassin was to attack during the ceremony. Incredible detail. The camera was a robotic camera that is 295 times more resolution than a 5 megapixel digital camera.

Note that it does take a few seconds for the image to focus after zooming in.

I believed the image to be one photograph, but in fact, the Obama Inauguration is a composite of 1940 images.
