'O' Scale performance

I need someone to show me the ropes on building ‘O’ scale indoor 100’ rail system. I would like bridges, elevation grades, and maybe tunnels. This could be a showcase setup for the public.

I would say that whatever rules apply to G scale would also be good for O scale. The only item that I am not sure of would be the track. I know that gargraves makes stainless steel track. However, I don’t know if the wood they use for the ties would work outdoors. Maybe someone else here can expand on the track issue.

AtlasO makes 0 Gauge track that has plastic UV resistant ties. They are used successfully outside. http://www.atlaso.com/menu3.htm

Peco also makes 0 gauge track that has plastic UV resistant sleepers. http://www.peco-uk.com/prodtype.asp?strParents=3309&CAT_ID=3316&numRecordPosition=1

For some reason I can’t embed the URL like I “usta” could.

Some how you guys missed that Warren stated “indoor”

I sure would not use Gargraves, unless I was using 3rail equipment…

Of course it all depends on how realistic the “Indoor” pike is to be…Atlas, or Peco track is available with Nickle Silver rail, and looks great along with their switches.

'Cause we play outdoors…

Warren, go here: http://ogrforum.ogaugerr.com These guys are more than willing to help you out. They have been a big help for me. Lots of good ideas, both 2 and 3 rail, toy, hi-rail and scale.

If you are strictly 2 rail 0 Scale, you might take a look at: http://oscalemag.com/wordpress/ost-forums/ Not nearly as many members, but still worth a look.

Impossible!! Indoor you say. Somehow there was a failure to communicate between my eyes and brain. I know that I have eyes 'cause I can see them in a mirror. I’m not so sure about a brain however. I’ll ask my wife to look in my ear…

Mr. Buchanan, Thank you for the direction.

Warren, what about the rest of us? Are we just chopped liver, then?

Last time I used Gargraves it was a son of a gun to bend!

But that was 40 years ago so it might have changed.

SORRY, STEVE AND EVERYONE ELSE. Does anyone live in the CDA area?

I would like to show them my setup and see if I’m on the right page.

If you are talking about Couer D Alene, ID, I live just north of Spokane, WA, not too far away.

Steve,

Come to town and I will buy you lunch.
