Hi guys here is another model ive almost finished it’s a NSWGR electric parcel van 1/32 scale these were converted EMUs to run on their own and collect / drop off parcels all over the Sydney electrified network withdraw during the 80s also known as the red rattlers i laser cut the body parts from 3mm acrylic sheet and made the roof from a polyurethane resin casting .i even laser cut the dummy pantograph.
Nice looking work Tod. What do you power it with and what drive did you use ?
Hi i use battery power and 2.4 rc she has 12 2000 MHA nimh cells and uses 1 twin motor shortened lionel G scale power truck under the pantograph end of the car.
The lionel power trucks are noisy so sounds like the full size ( lots of traction motor whine ) .
Here is a pic of a real one for reference.
O as you can tell im a bit of a NSWGR electric locomotive nut. Cheers Tod.
Very good likeness Tod. You guys with these lasers are starting to make me twitch for a new tool…
Very nicely done, Tod. You mentioned Lionel power trucks. How do you like them ? And I agree that the noise kills two birds with one $. No need to buy a sound system
They are ( ok ) i got 6 of them never used from Trainz i prefer aristo but cant get them NSWL are to dear for me also a have a scratchbuilt electric locomotive now 13 years old with aristocraft RS3 motor blocks and still runs great a model of the one on my picture.
