Obviously, none of you have read the newspaper, checked the news online, or watched the TV news. If you had, then you would have known that the gubernatorial candidate and challenger to the current governor, was not promising “$25 gas vouchers to the first 100 people who smash a toy train at a Mobil gas station in Burbank.” He was merely offering folks $25 gas cards, presumably to vote for him, and not, as the first poster wrote, “inviting them to smash a toy train.” The facts are, the candidate, who is running against the governor, was giving away $25 gas cards to the first 100 people who showed up at his rally (rant) at a Mobil station in Burbank. He said, and I quote, “Governor, don’t raise our gas prices to fund the crazy train.” According to the LA Times, the guy smashed a windup toy train to protest the governor’s plan to build a bullet train linking San Fran with LA. The toy train was a symbol, nothing more. If it had been an airport or cruise terminal, he probably would have destroyed a toy plane a ship. Wendell got it right, pretty much. But many others just piled on without knowing what the heck any of this was about. Talk about herd mentality. Why is any of this on a model train site anyway?
