Now that's snow!

I found this unattributed photo while surfing the web.

Looks just like my backyard;)

For Shawn’s snow canyons on his railroad, there is a prototype for everything.

I would venture to guess this is the result of cleaning up after an avalanche. Better not pull any overwidth cars through there!

Less chance for the cars to scatter all about in case of a derail!

Wow cp has a system of new snow bumpers to keep their trains on the rails lol

Lol, CP’s solution for high speed freight traffic. They can go as fast as they want and no worry about flying off the track!!

Cool. Kind of amazing that the rotary plows are still basically the same, just diesel power instead of steam.

Cool pics guys

Steve

That pic has actually been around for a while. It was taken in 2009 or 2010 just west of the entrance to the Mount Macdonald Tunnel in the Rogers Pass. There really isn’t that much snow. The picture is of the runout from an avalanche that just missed the tunnel. In the second picture if you look to the right about half way up the shot you can see the highway that runs between Revelstoke and Golden.

Looking at the snowblower pic, I’m thinking that is on the White Pass and Yukon. The powered units in the distance appear to be yellow and green, which would be the right colors for that line.

Ron

I’d agree, that sure is some snow.

Sort of makes this not look so out of scale now:
