Large Scale Central

Now it is spring, so lets get to work!

April 2nd had a 40’ spruce taken out so the eastern mainline curve will be a whole lot cleaner w/o the small cones, needles, and from that variety short twigs coming down all over, plus it really opened that section up to the sun, moisture and of course snow (like the heavy wet stuff last night pretty gone by now though) . It was leaning towards the garage(s) , top 4’ had been broken off by wind, and i had to continually delimb it to a ht. of say 12’ to keep from the overhead electrical line.

Moisture  for the 5 cedar aborteums i planted under the spruce last august in prep for the removal. Spotted at Rona end of july for less $4 so snagged all the single trunk units. Cedars will not grow just anywhere round here, but with protection from the northwinds decent moisture and sunshine they may just grow big and healthy (10-20’ so says the tag) at some point to become the new green privacy wall for the neighbours new side kitchen window view !
Also they’ll make a good green foilage bkdrop in front of the fenceline … the last remaining chunk of property fenceline (25’?) to be replaced with new (5) posts, etc. Considering the cost of removing the tree which was to the benefit of both our garage and the neighbours, I think we’ll just defer that last chunk of fenceline in the hopes that the neighbour will cough up the funds since his Dad mentioned they could now also see how that section was looking a tad ugly

Today was in the low 70s (F) so I spent the day taking care of sick wife – she’s got some kind of lung-throat-nose congestion with a hacking cough. I spent a few minutes assembling a track powered LED power supply. With a printed circuit board and LED driver, it’s really simple and fast. Think I got it together in under ten minutes. Now I’ve just got to solder it together.

I am still working on my garden layout…Yep…I am a newbie, just having fun!

John, it is the space between train and outside that is killing you. Once you remove that, the pics will post.

thanks
