Large Scale Central

Not exactly modelling, more converting

Take two real cheap passenger cars made by Newqida, futz 'em around with a few hundred bits of wood, paint, teeny pics, chains, expanded aluminium, add new wheels and couplings and some custom signage, and what do you have?

Well, two fin de siecle Hungarian NG passenger cars that look a little like the ones on the Welshpool & Llanfiar railway might have looked like before they got the re-paint all wrong.

See the little movie clip here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXtmy7J5QOw

And yes, it IS a teeny-weeny roundy round track. If anyone has any better ideas for getting the maximum radius tracks in a square backyard, and STILL leave room for a little reloading shed in one corner, please let me know.

Nice Tac

Thanks, guys [sniff] nice to hear a few plaudits instead of sneers.

tac

Nice…but would a train in that era be hauling a cell phone for the Jolly Green Giant?

Tac,
I don’t pretend to know a thing about the prototype, but from what I could see in the video those are some very good looking cars.
Thanks for sharing the film.

Maybe I shouldn’t give plaudits as I don’t want to spoil or confuse you but since I would never sneer at such a good friend…

GREAT LOOKING CARS!!! (Really)!

Nice job for sure Terry!
P.S. Oregon’s waiting…

Very nice! And what a delightful little steamer too.

They look nice. Love the steam sound with the wheels hitting the joints.

Ah, it's like this. When mrs tac is out on her chimbly-sweeping or quarry-blasting job and I'm out in the backyard I can't hear the house phone 'cos I'm deef. If I can see the beeper light flashing then I can answer it...

Glad all you guys like the little cars - they were fun to do, to tell the truth.
