I got a copy of Microsoft Train Simulator for Christmas. Having never fiddled with it before, I’ve found some parts of it very entertaining, and some parts very, well, frustrating. I’m still not sure how I seem to run off the rails, light engine, within the speed limit, halfway up the Marias Pass in the same spot EVERY time… but there you have it.
Anyhow…
My primary objection to the whole thing is the fact that most of the routes are NOT in the US, and none of the steam engines are. Oh, and that annoying MOO-ing sound the horn on the HHP-8 makes… but I digress. I’ve also discovered that there’s no end to the sources on the 'net for various downloads, some of which are free, some of which are not, and some of which are not, and should be.
So…
Anybody got any good files, or sources of files? Looking particularly for New England stuff, and good looking locomotives (US Steam OR Diesel) …
Might add some real dimension to the virtual car exchange…
