We had our monthly club meeting out in wheat country. One of our members, John, has a railroad that has several thousand feet of track meandering up a hillside on his wheat ranch. He has some friends that are professional videographers, so sit back and enjoy the first of what may be many such productions.
Steve, Great video thanks for sharing. Ron
Very fine video Steve, quite enjoyable. I like the old time ambience.
‘several thousand feet of track’ - that HAS to be the definitive throw-away line of the year.

Ottawa Valley GRS
Not really, Terry. You should see the layout. It is on a wheat ranch that is not measured in acres, nor hectares, but in hundreds of square miles. The video only shows a small portion of the layout.
Of course, not all of the track in in mainline. I didn’t claim that.
Steve - there seems to something lost in translation here - I never said I didn’t believe it, I said that is has to be the definitive throw-away line of the year.
Maybe in Deer Park a ‘throwaway line’ means something different.
Hereabouts it means an offhand, highly understated comment, like saying that Donald Trump is worth a few dollars.
Guess I’ll keep my future comments to myself.

Actually Steve the mainline is 1000 feet from end to end.
We will be shooting a video of his trains in action with the same video crew later this week. I will be sure to post the link of the finished product.
that is an awesome railroad, Steve!

Sounds about right. John said that he had several thousand feet of track laid down, including all the sidings and run-arounds.

Its my fault for not asking for clarification.
Fantastic background pictures. Had to look at it twice to just realize how good it was and how realistic it added to the overall views.
Thanks for sharing.
Lovely! I am looking forward to more video – wanna see the trains go 'round!
Is the depot at 2:40 and again at 2:58 a kit or scratch-built? If it’s a kit, does anyone know the maker and model number?
Cat, I’m pretty sure that is the Aristocraft depot. I think that John painted it to match his RR scheme though. Its probably pretty rare, now.
Edit:
Well, now I’m not so sure. I found this at Whistle Stop, but it appears reversed from what you see in the video, so perhaps it is something from PIKO. Maybe someone else can jump in.
Looks like a Pola building…

This is a photo of a POLA station, the Silverton. Catalogue number 330907- Silverton Station. I found it at Chalk Rail in the UK. Good luck.
Ya beat me to it, Ken. Good on ye! Great minds think alike! (http://www.freerails.com/images/emoticons/gerg.gif)
Mike,
That was terrific!
