North Idaho exploring 2022

John,

While I wouldn’t call Tepee my favorite, after last year it’s gonna have to rank very very high. Especially down at the confluence where it meets the CDA river.

That is fun country and I basically was raised in them thar woods. The family spent many days camping in the Magee and Horsehaven area.

On the fishing note I can say that at no time in my life has the fishing been better in that area than ever before. More and larger trout than I have ever seen before.

You are guaranteed to encounter obstacles on your exploring jaunts. You can either turn around or pull up your big boy panties and tackle them. We run across downed trees that are small enough to hop over, ( get out the chainsaws for larger ones) ,huge washouts and ruts, and mud wallows.
You must hit the wallows at a higher rate of speed or you will get stuck.
This is what my rig looks like when you get back to camp. All part of the fun!

I bet the batt saws are welcomed

Sean, we carry one battery saw in at least two rigs. If we see further down the trail, we hike to look to see how many more there might be, and sometimes just turn around. We’ll let someone else like the Forest Service finish it.

Well, I got some of the mud off. Enuf for the next trip. :grinning:
