Large Scale Central

Norfolk Southern Family Portrait

Went to the NS Family portrait today, July 4th. I was there shortly after opening. Spent half the day there, and only saw half the heritage units. The other half were off the museum grounds somewhere. I assume they were going to be moved onto the grounds for the second half of the day. 92 degrees with 92% humidity. As it was, I was there 6 hours. If you’ve never been to the North Carolina Transportation Museum, it’s a big place with plenty of track to display all 20 locomotives. So, enough bitchin…I’m sounding like a grumpy old phart  These three locomotives never left the Roundhouse and weren’t part of the “parade”. I think maybe they didn’t have enough crews on hand.

The locomotives that were “paraded” while I was there. I waited on the Central of New Jersey locomotive to move forward into view. Instead they backed it on out through the gate.

I also have a few pictures of the Amtrak Aniversary Train. I think I’ll give them a seperate topic when I get around to resizing/renaming them. Ralph

Thank you Ralph

It is true all over…the suits are not railroad men.

Nice - The line up of NYC - PRR- PC makes a neat picture - too bad a Conrail then the NS unit wasn’t behind them

I never saw the Conrail or Southern locos. Reading or Lehigh Valley either.
The Penn-Central “Brunswick Green” sure looks black to me
