Noisy dismals

don’t ya just love’em?

Well, having only about 20% hearing, I sure do - grateful for anything I can hear, me. So here is a short clip I made earlier this summer, for all the other deef ol’ coots on this forum. Not, of course, that that includes YOU!

I’ve got a diesel sound CD you would love. Bought it at a train show. As I was paying the seller sez “Easy on the throttle big guy., these are DIDGE ITALY MASTERED!!”

What I cant hear you. Did you say something

When I was working for BNSF I remember looking at the sound levels charts in the cab for FRA certification. They were something like 65 db at idle, and 85 db at notch 8 (inside the cab for the new units) so I would imagine that it’s quite a bit louder outside but I never got a chance to actually measure the db.
Thank goodness for earplugs! But I still lost some of my hearing in my left ear due to the radio. Thanks for the warm memories nothing like a piece of GE trash to ride in.

Not only are they noisy, but pulling NG cars along with SG cars…
None of which are weathered or graffiti’d.
