Sitting by the fire enjoying a few cold ones.
I can hear the LA&C RR K-27 #8 working hard. I can see its dim ole’ headlight leading the way. The cabooses glowing red markers bring up the rear. The conductor must be working late because the windows have a warm glow from the lanterns.
I hope y’all are having even half as nice a time as I am tonight.
Last evening was a nice night and I too had a train running into the darkness.
I really like the way the headlight reflects off the tracks.
Ditto, Id rather watch paint dry
OK guys, a night pic of a train.

D&S Roundhouse this last weekend. Needs some photoshop work to make it better, but it is night.
No it doesn’t! Thats awesome!
I guess you guys need ot use your imagination when it comes to photos and train running at night.
On a warm Summer evening close your eyes and listen for that distant whistle and approaching rumble. You catch the glow of the headlight through the foliage and suddenly your favorite engine pulls into full view tooting the horn or whistle as it comes, you quickly catch a glimpse of the engineer at work in the dim light of the cab as it zips by. Perhaps at the end is a lighted caboose or a FRED then that is it and off the train goes back into the night leaving you in the silent darkness. The crickets return to making their music.
Who needs photos? I think we all have snapshots like this in our minds.
The weather today is perfect for an evening train. Might just experiment with the camera in low light and see what I get. If anything interesting gets captured I’ll post it.
Jon, That would be refreshing. Nice to talk about our layouts for a change. And be happy with the trains we do have. I love this forum, Thank you Bob and all my new friends I have made. Lets all keep the boy in all of us. Regards, Ron
I test ran No2 for a bit yesterday evening…she ran sweetly, if anyone has the opportunity to pick one up I can reccomend it…its not my style either…but I’ve made her fit in…
Well, I did run 3 trains. A set out, one local freight and a sweep. All done before dark and I didn’t take pictures :[ I was just too tired by the time the local was run to get the camera out so I ran the sweep before dark.
