Ran across pictures of this cute little Brookville locomotive that worked at a mine in PA. Lots of neat details. There’s a couple hooks, a shovel and pick, and a length of chain on the left side, broom on the right side, and the side curtain. Various bits and bobs on the frame beside the engine hood. Then there’s an outsized, bolted on weight on the front. The length of chain coming off the front is interesting, it goes through a loop embedded in the track. My guess is this loco dragged some cars around on this track.
Very cool! I’ve always had a thing for the little Brookies. This one still resides at the Rockhill Trolley Museum. These photos from over 20 years ago so it may have been painted by now, but not likely
A someday model for sure!
Bachmann’s Davenport could be a good starting point for making a dilapidated critter.
(I just know Rooster will report me to the moderator for showing a kinky picture - a Hooker tied [railroad jargon] to a Davenport!
Have fun, David Meashey
The picture shows an early 1960’s car, if you were looking to help date the photo.
'64 or '65 Ford Falcon or Mercury Comet
Here is some interesting information on the Harwick mine. After the disaster the mine reopened and mainly supplied coal for the Duquesne Power Company and officially closed in 1970.
Editing: Because I’m driving to Mass. just to kick your rear end for making me waste over an hour looking at this crap and NO I don’t want one!
Oh, and there is even one in there for the Mueller’s to build and run on the Kauai plantation.
