NEWQIDA TOYS FACTORY LTD "RhB Gbk-v"

As Newqida do not pretend their items to actually be LGB they are not really fakes.

They are copies. As some critical dimensions vary, they are not even exact copies.

‘Similar in appearance to’ is good enuff for me in this case. I can buy a LOT of .22 ammunition for what’s left out of £300…

I own a Newqida Harz steam train in a set with two TB blue passenger cars and separately purchased a Newqida Railway Experts yellow freight car and green tank car. I have also ordered additional Newqida straight track for making an oval layout in my study. I have run my Newquida Harz with freight and passenger cars for over four hours this past Tuesday and Saturday at Longwood Gardens http://www.longwoodgardens.org/GardenRailway.html, where I work seasonal part time at its garden railway and am a volunteer. I have run Newqida Harz train and cars at my home garden railway and will also be running them soon for my garden railroad club http://www.sepgrs.com/.

The Harz engine occasionally stops and reverses with no change in transmitter controls, perhaps due blocked transmission or low battery. I also have observed likely interference when operating an Aristo-Craft 75MHz transmitter for receiver controlling track power. Thus, I need to replace this glitching 27MHz Transmitter and Receiver with a 2.4GHz combo. While the bell sound is fine, the “whistle” sounds like a sick bird, and the two chug sounds are not synchronized to the speed. I also need to replace the sound unit with an economical one, perhaps a German Steam Sound (BR50), if it sounds much better.

I have contacted Paul at Hammond Toys and separately Newqida with my questions listed below:

  1. How many channels are provided with the Newqida 27MHz Tx and Rx?

  2. Does the Newquida system uses servo leads between its 27MHz RX and the onboard electronics? (If this is so I may not need a new electronic speed control (ESC), but then I could just replace the Rx with a 2.4GHz. If not, then I would need to replace both the RX and the ESC.)

  3. Do you have disassembly instructions for the Harz engine to help me remove the boiler, cabin and other parts from the frame to access the onboard electronics?

  4. Also, do you have a schematic diagram of the electronics for this Harz engine?

  5. Do you offer a smoke generator or recommend a manufacturer of a smoke generator to install in the Harz engine?

  6. Will the ESC and motor safely operated on a larger 8.4V NiMH battery? What is the maximum voltages for the ESC and motor?

  7. Do you offer replacements for the ESC and motors that will run on 22.2V Lithium ion/polymer batteries?

  8. Who is the manufacture of the sound module and do you have any electronic schematic diagrams on its installation and replacement?

  9. Do you offer for sale a noise suppressing circuit for reducing the motor humming sounds?

  10. Do you have information on the availability of Newqida switch controls?

Perhaps, some of the people in this forum topic have already answered my questions and then made these improvements on their Newqida trains?

Paul at Hammond Toys asked me to contact Newqida, which sent me back to Hammond Toys. I am back to Newqida, but my outlook here is not good for getting answers back to my questions above.

I decided to try installing a Aristo-Craft new Revolution 2.4GHz receiver this Winter to stop the glitching.

I may also install the Dallee sound module with “exact recording of the German BR-50.”
