Newbie to Live Steam but not model trains

I was approached by a magazine to write an article about adding R/C to a Ruby the name of which escapes me.

I bought a kit to add R/C to a Ruby and found that the throttle length was to short to fit the kit (Pete you may remember helping me out with this).

I have written the article but as yet, to my knowledge, it has not been published.

I also included instructions to modify a transmitter so that one lever was the throttle and the other was the reverser (Johnson bar) I just open the throttle and use the reverser to control the speed.

I would email a copy of the article to people but as I am new to the site it says no can do!!!
Hopefully if I post a few more times I will be allowed to do as i have been told it is an anti spam/nuisance protection system.

I just remembered that I had a discussion on “mylargescale.com” thread name “Adding Radio Control kit to a Ruby” by Batsco about the throttle length issue.
This may be of interest to somebody and it is the basis for the article mentioned in the above post.
