Newbie question

Has anyone seen pictures, plans, etc. for the Nautalus submarine from Jules Verne’s 20,000 leagues under the sea. I want to model it at periscope depth looking out of my pond at an Indian village.

Try this. It will get you started.

This site is temporarily down, but is is supposed to have blueprints if you can be patient.

Wow! That looks exactly like what my warped mind has been picturing. Now if I can just get all of the pictures to load, and figure out what size it is, I might have solved one idea easily.

I saw the Nautilus over on the Starship Modeler forum I think…its one of my OTHER major hobbies…

http://www.starshipmodeler.com Just do a search for “Nautilus”

The 'real thing' was 192 feet long.

1/29th scale = 6.5 feet long

1/24th scale = 8 feet long

1/22.5 scale = 8.53 feet long

1/20.3 scale = 9.45 feet long

Sounds like some selective compression may be required

Just re-reading your post there....if all you are going to see is the periscope, why do you need to know how long the rest of it is?

And I don’t recall Nautilus having a periscope, for that matter. Not that it matters.
