Hey Frank,
Great video! While I was at it I watched a few others also. What part of the world do you live in? Nice railroad.
Chuck
Southern Germany…
thank u for your kind words.
Frank
I see you fit the B’mann K-27 plow to your Connie too. Looks good…
Very nice turntable and coaltower, Ken!
Yes, i fitted the plow to the connie, and i like it. But i like both the version with and without the plow, so it will be the only one.
Frank
Nice video.
I also bought the K plow after the last snow.
Hope to rig it up to an Annie before next Winter…so it won’t snow

I´ve added a second video of the CCRR long freight:

Hey Frank,
Another nice video. It looks like you’re having good weather. Yesterday is was about 40 degrees with 48 mile per hour winds, and rain, snow, and hail. The only thing we didn’t see was a tornado. Luckily no damage on my property, although I thought I was going to loose one of my 40 foot tall maple trees.
BTW what track system are you using? I have veiwed several of your videos and you have some nice big switches.
Keep up the great work.

Chuck Inlow said:Hi Chuck,

i use THIEL Track. The switches are some kind of serial production, but because of the technical details there is much “handwork” in them.
I know the -now retiring- owner of THIEL-Gleis personally, and therefore i know that he braught a big amount of prototypical knowledge into the modelmaking.
Due to copyright issues, his profile isnt the same as LGB had, but its completely compatible (what makes the track uninteresting for the “hardcore-modelers”).
The switch-geometry is very exactly like it should be: guradrails, measurments and especially the well fitting form is very well done.
All the straight switches follow a rule: straight track from the frog out. That makes it much more difficult to just fit in a switch in a curve, but its very important for the operation safety.
Mr. Diesener (the THIEL-Owner) has 2000mm rad. and 3000mm rad. straight switches (about 6.5 ft and 10 ft.).
He also offers curved switches, the widest (i have only one of them GREAT!!) is a 2000/3000 mm curved switch.
For more, there are “englanders” (cross-switches) and very important: “Y”-switches.
U can all the geometry of track at

Thanks Frank, that product looks great. To bad it’s not available in the states because I’m sure it would cost a fortune to have it shipped over hear. I’d really like to have the curved switches and the cross over slip switch.

Coaltowers based on the one in Chama, NM and the turntable is modeled after the one in Perris, CA at the Orange Empire Museum.
