A new tunnel portal, built from lightweight insulation building blocks, was added to my railroad recently.
The portal marks the entrance/exit to a covered temporary two track storage barn. Two six car (40ft. stock) trains can be stored there and it has the added benefit of sheltering trains during a rain shower - not unknown in the UK.
This is the second such tunnel portal: the previous one also made from the same blocks, was made around two years ago. The new tunnel is named Oshkosh Tunnel and the earlier one Tomahawk Tunnel, both being places in Wisconsin and had facilities for Milwaukee Road trains.
