New trestle bridge now installed

http://s615.photobucket.com/albums/tt235/danielpeck/trestle%20bridge/

After 600 plus feet of steel… alot of welding, cuting and fitting it is now done. The trestle bridge finaly is in the ground. It was built on a 2% grade on top of everything else. It weights over 300 LBS and took 3 people to unload it off my truck to set it in the ground. In about 2 weeks I should have video of the WHOLE layout from point a to point b on the rails… about a 1,000 feet of track when done. Now to build 3 turntables…in less than 3 weeks…

Nice build. Looking forward to the layout pics

here is video of the whole layout from were it leaves the house to were it enters back into the house.

That’s an amazing layout. It’s easy to see that a huge amount or work has gone into the construction. Looking forward to seeing rains run on it.

WoW! You are the King of the Tall Trestles for sure. Thanks for sharing those pix.

Awesome RR.

I fully agree. :) Daniel, How do you seal your access ports into and out of the house?

That’s a great looking trestle! I need to whip up (yea, right!) about 30 feet of trestle myself.

WOW! That is one beautiful layout. Thanks for sharing the video.

Very Cool!

Very impresive. Its going to be a great looking layout when complete. All the work is very clean looking.

We are using foam plugs to fit into the pipe were it enters the house on both ends.

Open house if everything goes good will be in September during the narrow guage convention. I will let you know more as time gets closer. Still have a lot of work to do.

Bob about that 30 feet of trestle… can be done in 2 sections and delivered let me know… shipping would cost way to much and it would have to be truck frieght.

Write up on the layout and open house info to follow

Thanks for the photos of Jim’s layout. I will be heading out to Jim’s in a couple of weeks to install
the Airwire, Phoenix and batteries in his locomotives. I’m also working on a RGS # 20 for him.
