What’s the build size on the dual machine? Minimum layer thickness?
Print precision .1-.2mm
Layer .1-.05mm
Build size 8.9x5.7x5.9 - 'bout the size of a replicator 2 from makerbot
stock .4mm nozzle
1.75mm filament - abs/pla etc…
Just been alerted to this by my Military Rail mates ,
1/35 scale , but so what ? That’s the popular scale for military modellers .
I am very impressed by the complete steam loco body , and bear in mind that these run on H0 mechanisms .

Are you already doing custom jobs?
Still going through my wishlist of things for my railroad and offering anything that I have done, if you have something designed and want to see it printed at a more reasonable rate then shapeways I might be able to sneak in a print or 2, just no time to design a project for ya.
Oh looking at another toy to buy… a filament extruder

Mark , I am not trying to remove your possible trade .
Far from it , I am drawing attention to another large scale very popular with modellers----I have to add here , far more popular than just model railways----and the rather nice bits of work on offer .
I think the price of the tank body for example is very reasonable, allowing the “buy” of a model at a quite reasonable price . So I do not understand your knocking of Shapeways . If you produced 1/35 I could understand . Having just read your post above , it wouldn’t be sour grapes would it ? Do you know how big 1/35 is ? You know , just a bit smaller than 1/29 . Don’t make the mistake of knocking other manufacturers’ stuff , it will backfire on you . Compete instead .
Mike
Mark
when you get your vinyl cutter please let me know how you like it
and how well it works for lettering in 1:29
I am considering getting one myself but don’t want to buy without knowing what it will
and won’t d do.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

What does 1/35th military vehicles have to do with my new printers or vinyl cutter?
Start your own thread in the model section or somewhere to call out stuff like that or don’t you realize your post is a complete interuption of the topic at hand?

Mark,
1:35 is 20% smaller than 1:29. Not a first choice even for those who don’t count rivets (because most of their cars are welded) and clearly outside the spread I would consider if I were running 1:29 equipment. ![]()
Mark asked
“What does 1/35th military vehicles have to do with my new printers or vinyl cutter?”
I would respond “everything” . As I tried to explain , I am trying to draw attention to the possibilities available with new techniques and machines , you know , promoting the stuff you are trying to do .
Seeing a new thread marked 1/35 Military may not have had the instant connection with 3D .

Mark,
One of the projects I have on my list is 1:22.5 howitzers. Simple ones that the Swiss army used.

The proto I model would transport those on flat cars; sometimes covered other times without covers. That and a few other simple 1:22.5 army items would be the cat’s meow.
Before you start drawing that check out the sketch library there are a lot of people working on differnt howitzers
Some of the basic features can be modified to your specs
