So a railroad friend of mine is rethinking his railroad theme and these don’t fit it. I am doing some work for him casting some parts so we made a trade. He made these ore cars using aritstocraft and LGB cars to make these short side dump ore cars. They are operational. I wanted 8 short ore cars for use on my layout to sever double duty as operations and also for use on an Inglenook siding puzzle. These are great little cars. He gave them to me today and I got to play with them on the layout at the train show.
Very cool and should keep you busy operationally.
Those are some interesting cars. And a cool trade.
Nice cars Devon. It looks like you are in business now.
Awesome!
Now you need a pike to run them on …Get to work!

I have several pikes to run them on. Didn’t you see them parked on a siding. Ran them all day. Oh. . .wait. . .you mean my OWN pike to run them on. Well I have to quit going to train shows and stay home and work on railroads.
The really cool thing about those cars is that the side doors actually work. They can be used to lay ballast.

Yeah they do open and each car is a double hopper (front and back) so all or half the load can be dumped at one time. Pretty cool car. John also did a nice job of detailing them as well.
