Large Scale Central

New site testing

Neat! Hooray…

Chat has a button for emoticons - press it and it shows all available. Maybe put that in the forums as well?

You must be getting closer?

Thank you for all the work are you doing for your fellow modelers. It truly is a “labor of love.”

I am looking forward to the new site.

Tom

Any possibility to implement the current search capabilities in the new system? Went looking for my old posts using the new search and found none.

And while I’m here complaining; I really don’t like the default emoticons…

But other than that, I think you’ve done a great job with the new site. We appreciate all your hard work.

Ah, thanks for the heads-up on the search. An issue with the importing process. Need to add the search information when I import everything.

Search tables now populated (Thanks, Jon!)

Posting from freight shed popup now works in chat and forums.

youtu.be embedding seems to work

Yes, it does work now but it's still no where near as functional (for me) as the search on the current site. If I search my name I get 4700+ results of every time my name is mentioned. If I narrow that to Forum Topics I only get a small list of topics where my name is in the subject. What I'm trying to come up with is 'all posts by Jon Radder' like we can do in the current search.

Well, you can go into your, or anyone elses profile, and look at their forum posts. Bruce, for example

But, yea, maybe I need an Advanced Search that lets you do that all at once. Or something.

Thanks. I did find that in my Profile. I guess what I really miss is the ability to do advanced searching like; Show me the topics in the Modelling Forum that contain Boxcar authored by Jon Radder

Hmm, yea, an advanced forum search is in order, I think…

Yes, the current search is awesome. Keywords, author, and the ability to show results as individual posts or topics. I use it quite often and it works well. Not only that, but it’s quick, making it even more useful when trying to find something that I remember from eight years ago.

I have trouble remembering what I was doin 8 minutes ago sometimes...

It’s more like – hey, I remember somebody doing this…maybe last week, or even last month. Then the search tells me it was 8 years ago.

Hey Bob - Thanks for the Vimeo imbed fix. It looks much easier now to both post and view imbedded video.

Now, if I could just have a post preview button and the old emoticons I might be happy

I looked at the large photo issue Ralph has complained about. I actually like the way the new software deals with the problem of large photos. If the photo width gets truncated by the software you just need to right click and view image to see the full size original.

That works for me :) Ralph

You are just having “to much fun” Bob. When do you hope to launch it? =)

Working on the advanced forum search. Once that’s done, I need to find a Sunday morning when I have about 4 hours in a row to convert it. Hopefully early-mid Februrary (says the guy that started this process two years ago)

I understand how that goes. Are you using HTML 5? I’ve been hearing lots of good things about it.
