What little I looked, I like Bob.
maybe, i’m stupid, but…
the website as it was in the last years - was to me the tecnicaly easiest site i am visiting.
so, Bob, why is it necessary to change the software?
Same question here.

Its like everything else you have to keep up with the times. Things become outdated and have to be replaced with new.
So far I like the new site Bob.
Hey Bob, looking good.
I don’t know if it’s temporary or if I need to change the way I post pics but I noticed a “size issue”. When I post a pic I copy the image code off Photobucket and paste it in my reply, nothing more (PB has this option as recommended for forum use). The pics always appeared to come in at the proper size when I reviewed them on several different computers. Now they appear too big with the right side being cut off and no way to “scroll” to see the full image.
Thanks!

Look at it this way. Pretend I opened a restaurant, built the building from a kit, and hand-built all the furniture. The tables and chairs are nice, heavy wood. The kitchen is in a separate building, with a plywood and blue-tarp breezeway connecting the two. This worked fine for a long time, but the way people eat in restaurants has changed. They want to move the tables and chairs around, and watch the chef in action. And I only take Visa and Mastercard, when all the new diners want to use Discover and American Express. To do that, I have to carry the receipt down to the bank to make sure it’s good.
Now, I can continue to duct tape the leaky tarps in the kitchen, and add felt feet to the tables and chairs so they move around easier. Or, I can gut the place, put on a proper kitchen with a nice brick oven and stainless steel appliances, and, while I’m at it, add some nice music, plants, and a really nice bar, none of which people have asked for, but make it more fun.
LSC may work ‘fine’ for most people coming to the site, but the tech is outdated, modern browsers are causing incompatibility problems, and user and spam management is all by hand, there are no tools in place to do any of that. It’s far easier for me to start from scratch and build it out to modern standards.

Probably still too large for the site. Try em at 800px wide, that should work.

Today I'm working on the Paypal / Freight Shed signup. If any of you get an email from LSC saying something like "Your subscription has been completed" or something, it's safe to ignore, that's just me playing. You *SHOULNT*, but, well, you know.
I’m just wondering what kind of food we’re getting served…

I went into the albums section. It says I only have 26 pictures - I’m sure I must have more.
Anyway, when I clicked on the last one - it says “Photo 27 of 26 in Public Gallery”
I do like the manage photos option. Very nice to have all that stuff in one place. I am a bit confused about the title, since all of them say “Gallery Image” What’s the distinction between title and caption?
The pictures in your “Public Gallery” are ones that were uploaded to the Photo Gallery, plonked now into a gallery you can manage by yourself. If there is no name or description, I fill it in with some dummy text. You’ll be able to change that as you see fit.
Not sure on the 27 of 26 thing, Ill look at that. maybe you’re special.
I think all mine are there.
Does Andy get Spam because he’s special?

Oh, he’s special all right.
well, i hope, the new software will be downwards compatible to the elder biological software it has to cooperate with.

I keep looking through the new site to see the changes you’ve made, and it seems to be coming along nicely.
Am I the only one who likes having the links at the bottom of each page for Home, Forums, and Topic ?
The ones on the line just below ‘Subscribe to this topic’ and just above the ‘Post Reply’ box I used to type this message.
