For personalization, you can select the “Edit My Profile” button from the home page, or “My Profile” (top of all pages). There’s also the “Settings” button at the top of all pages.
The Profile allows you to set your signature, profile picture, and your personal information.
The Settings allow you to set things like your time zone, privacy levels (I recommend you let all registered viewers see your profile), your level of notification (when you get emails), and some other stuff.
Bruce, in “edit my profile” below the “about Me” window is another window slugged “Forum Signature.” Below that line, in parens, is reads “accepts bbcode.”

Well, Joe, I would sure hope you would accept that dang BB Code. 
As for your signature, well, that is personal. It’s not needed, but you can put whatever you like. I chose my name and my RR logo.
YMMV.
