Del, does each receiver need its own transmitter? From what I read, that seems to be the case.
Steve Featherkile said:I wondered about that too. Will the new "key fob" transmitter work with existing Rail Boss receivers??

Thanks for creating all these very nice products.
Dr Tom
No. Only one transmitter is required to control all of your receivers, any one at a time.
This system is also very flexible, in that you can have any combination of transmitters and receivers that you can think of.
Each transmitter “Learns” a list of receivers that it can control. You can easily erase the list and re-learn another receiver (loco) with a couple of button presses.
Tom - Existing Basic RailBoss boards (Rev ECC-D) and RailBoss Plus boards (Rev Plus A, Plus B) can be re-programmed for use with the new Pocket Transmitter. This would require returning your board for the software update, as well as the purchase of the new transmitter and receiver. This can be quoted offline, if you are interested.

This does look like a good way to start with the battery/RC critter kit that I have stashed away somewhere. I don’t need much in the way of bells&whistles; not a fan of sound systems, and a Brit-style quarry line means oil lamps, if any. Well, acetylene gas in the coaches
Very nice Del. I’m not ready to give up the proportional throttle or simple sound triggers, but it is a very attractive size.
Jon Radder said:Don't worry. I will continue to sell and support the Hobby R/C RailBoss. There is a lot to be said for the proportional throttle.

Had to modify post , updated info added below .
So, when you order the Pocket Railboss Plus kit, you don’t get the transmitter. Am I reading that right? So to get started with one locomotive, one must spend #199.00… after that, it would be $140.00 for each extra locomotive.
The photos make it confusing.
Sorry for any confusion guys. Yes, the transmitter is sold separately, but you no longer have to go somewhere else to get it.
The new Pocket Basic RailBoss is now also available on the website. Same as the RailBoss Basic, except uses the new key fob transmitter.
