New Photo Software

I just tried out the new Photo Story 3 software from Microsoft.

It has some very interesting features, You can edit the photo, crop, add sound comments, music, timing and many more features.

It makes a WMV file “Windows Movie Video” file but it really is your camera files made into a video format.

It might need to have a new codec installed on your Media player to work but that should be explained the first time you view one of these files.

Here is my first attempt using this software package. The program says you must have a minimum of a 1.7G processor with at least 256Mb Ram. The picture size is 640 x 480 pixwls Let me know how it works on your computer.

Sorry for some of the dark images, I have an old camera, need to get a new one.

Yes, it’s pretty neat. It is what I used to create this from one of TOCs operation sessions

Well Done. It makes amature pictures, like mine, look more professional. I get tired in just clicking the next image looking a someones photos, this way you can see all of them easier and with comments and music if needed.

Mine gives me the “you need another codec” message.

Very nice.

It played with Windoze Media Player for me.

Hey Warren,

Does that mean you’re no “VISTA” ready??

My wife asked what “VISTA” was going to be all about.

“More MS bloatware!”

“Oh!?!”

What I’ve read about Vista…you are not going to be able to chase me far enough to install it on my computer. I’ll load Suse or Red Hat first or go buy a MAC. I must be either missing a codec which I cannot find, or need to upgrade my Windows Media Player to 11…Yuk! I have 11 on my old junker machine and discovered that they play on it. This machine is only about a month old but has WM Player 9 which I prefer. I cannot stand a machine that has to call Daddy Gates every 5 minutes. These new machines are, as you said nothing but bloatware and back doors that came off a barn. The latest confession from Redmond WA is that NSA had their hand in the development of Vista. That’s enough to scare the bejabbers out of me. Thanks, but no thanks. I don’t need Uncle Shrub looking over my shoulders.

Sure glad to see those two have things coordinated!

I had the same problem the first time.

Just go ahead and install the new codec.

Problem is I can’t find it…:frowning: I even told the thing to find the codec on the internet and all I got was spam sites…computer oriented but still spam and no codec in sight. I would have thought it would take me to a Microsoft download site.

It plays the sound just fine. Really love TOC’s choice in music…

Warren

What exactly is the message you are getting? Also, do you have Windows Media Player installed on your puter?

It says I don’t have the correct codec. And yes this is Windows Media Player 9.

Dave,
Nice video of your layout. How did you build the first mountain shown?
