New paint questions

I have a new LGB 0-4-0 that I’m going to use brake fluid on to strip the lettering off but I have two questions.

What have people been using to clean the engine afterward to get the brake fluid residue off?

And secondly. How does Krylon matte black work on the LGB plastic? Or does Rustoleum Flat Black work better? We’ve had enough trouble with blisters!

Water will wash the brake fluid off but be cautious with the brake fluid. Final clean could be done with alcohol.

Brake fluid will remove paint.
I’ve been using “Superclean” to remove decals. Used to be made by Castrol, but there is no mention of Castrol on the label anymore.
Available at most auto parts.

BTW- The Superclean was brought to my attention by Kevin’s write up in GRW.

You could run through the dishwahser without the “dry” cycle, but my wife caught me doing that once and the rest is history!

Since she’s usually the one that runs it I suppose she would know I was up to something. Maybe I’ll use a little Dawn in the sink and scrub lightly.

That would probably be best! :)
