New member saying Hello

Aloha, Steve!

You are a bold man building on that geography! I get nervous when my trains get near the 18" boundary wall of the garden!

Eric

Welcome Aboard !

Eric (and all),

I learned a long while ago not to fret when cosmetic damage occurs to an engine or car. I run them in a rugged environment and expect some damage. Not gonna let that get in the way of having fun.

As long as I don’t send a loco and 30 car consist 50’ down a hillside all is good.

I live at 8600’ about 20 miles down the east side of the Continental Divide and the winters up here are BRUTAL!!! So that also means I have to build structures with only one thing in mind: strength and durability (ok, that’s two things…). The Lucin Trestle is a good example.

Not really close to prototype, but it should last as long as I do!

Steve

I learned to not worry about trains falling off the RR, by being a maintenance nut with my bridges and trackwork on edges of walls and all.

“Having fun” is the important part. None of what I do on my RR is prototypical, but it works for me. At least I try to be consistent in how everything looks.

Welcome Aboard, Steve! I apologize if I was slow in greeting you. I’ll blame it on age. You should have some great photos!
