New LSC Badge Idea

I have once again been trying to fix / replace the broken picture links in some of my old posts. I came across an oldie but a goodie today. The Legend of the Napkin Drawing.

It got me thinking about what makes LSC fun. There are a few things that are entrenched and wholly unique to LSC. The annual Mik’s Build, The Chat Bar, Messing with Rooster and of course the Napkin Drawing.

I think some of these should be LSC Badges.

Completed a build in the Mik’s Challenge.
Voted in the Mik’s Challenge
Restocked the refrigerator and made fresh popcorn in the Chat Bar.
Killed Chat.
Zinged Rooster. (if you have ever posted anything you probably qualify for this one)
Included a Napkin Drawing in one of your build logs.

Is this possible BD?
Does anybody else think this should be?
Any other badge ideas?
How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie-roll center of a tootsie-pop?

Inquiring minds want to know.

There might also be, in theory, sub-badges. Like merit badges building up to a mega badge.

Traveling Rooster Badge

  • Acquired possession of the Traveling Rooster.
  • Took a photo of said Rooster on your layout.
  • Took a photo of said Rooster on someone else’s layout.
  • Participated in the TR ritual with at least one witness (Bill’s coming up with that procedure)
  • Sent the damn bird to someone else.

Traveling Outhouse Badge

  • Similar
  • Bonus points for getting the TR into the TO

Do you realise how difficult it will be if Cliff ever earns the Travelling Rooster Merit Badge? You just know the very next person he will leave the Rooster with would be Korm or Neil. The resultant carbon footprint will be huge.

How about the Reluctant Travelling Hermit Award? Awarded to any LargeScale Centralian who gets a visit from Cliff?

It’s fine to think of all those “Rewards” most thinking of the people we see today on LSC…
What is just as important are things from the past. People who helped Bob put together LSC and grew to be GREAT Friends, who SHARED true friendship and Knowledge with others.
Just a few were: Ken Brunt, Bart Salmon, Derick Coleman, Bruce Chandler, Ric Golding, Terry Foley, Dave Goodson, Richard Smith. Some still living but somehow not posting…others, off chasing trains in another, hopefully more peaceful and sharing World.
Lets reward them somehow…Their knowledge and true Friendship, cannot be replaced on LSC, or anywhere for any selfish price.

Wonder how many people would qualify for a lot of those badges , I see 4 that I can earn without any extra effort, as for the chat bar, it is usually open and ready for guests somewhere between the west coast time of 4:45 to ??? That is 5:45 mountain, 6:45 central and 7:45 east coast time , anyone outside those zones will have to do some maths and figure it out . Its lease drop by the uneaten popcorn is killing the budget and maybe we can have something other than “how is your weather?”

New badges are pretty easy to make (I just made one) but the rewarding of them would be a manual process.

So, who wants the " Mik Challenge Contestant" badge besides Boomer?

Sure , I will take one , it was always hard work to get one done when you don’t know what your doing and have a job that keeps you away from home several days a week
