New Locomotive Progress

The first locomotive of mine for the Ellsworth Hancock Lime Company is almost done and I thought I’d show you guys the progress I’ve made since it was a Aristo Rogers. It’s still missing a few detail parts but most of the body work has been finished. That unsightly gap in the boiler between the saddle tank and the cab will be patched with styrene and a big ol steam dome will reside there.

I can’t wait till I get to hook her up to a string or ore cars. She’ll be slightly weathered to look new but used for at least a year.

Cool project!

Thanks, I’m just so glad I was able to finally get to work on it after it’s been sitting around in pieces all winter. I’ve decided I’m going to replace the cab with a real wooden one too.

Just don’t drop it after you’ve put that wood cab on

Here it is with the new cab in place. I just went to WalMart and bought a bag of craft sticks to assemble the cab out of.

Caleb,Nice really improves the look of the loco… How did you get the space between cab and saddle tank?

Thanks, Dave. Originally the cab was against the saddle tank so I moved the cab back to give some space and make it resemble some engines made by H.K. Porter.

Nice work Caleb.

Reminds me of some of the Porters used by the Coronada Mines in AZ.

@Jerry, thanks man. Yeah Ray I googled them and I can see the similarity. I can switch out the diamond stack too with a balloon stack.
