Looks like it’s coming along Andrè. I see you have the same helper I have for my layout work.

Benchwork is complete, last bunch of decking is cut and laid out. Am holding ff screwing it doen until I get some idea of where I want the turnouts for the spurs and some bldgs placed. I’ll cut some longer deck boards for those spots.

Looks good!

Great progress! Looking good.

Andre… it looks much better when it’s leveled…

Here’s the track layout for the off side not much for a yard but it has two long passing sidings. They can also be used at sitting height for steaming up. Need to align them yet and tack down.

Nice…whens the first operating session?..

(singing) We go round in circles… hehehe looks good…

Quotes from Bart on “The Plan”

Now the genious of the design is revealed!

the point I was thinking of now that I’ve seen it is, say the lefthand section represents a location “Railroad East” of the Yard and the back section a location “Railroad West” of the yard…thus operationally doubling the length of the railroad on the same geographic footprint…

So that a local might go each way out of the yard…

Atown and the other proceeding to Bville…

I was thinking of facing point sidings off one location that could not be worked due to no run round track…now that I see the actual track plan…I can see where he was headed with it…and its a very good idea…

Set up a train in the main yard and ease it out on the curve then start the operating…the train moves into the first town and does its work then proceeds to the yard…then it does whatever there…then goes on to from there round to the other side working the other side of the deck…

OR treat the yard as a division point…have a ‘through freight’ come into the main yard and be broken down into an east bound and west bound local…each working opposite directions around the loop and back…

is two separate switching areas across from the main yard supported on the same deck.

It is definately a novel concept in large scale railroading…

Real nice Andrè. That dual town concept will really enhance ops and I’m sure cause some consternation at times as operators get used to the idea of only being able to get to certain locations from different directions of travel and separate loops

Well, Andre, if you’re going to be at Ric’s, I’m sure we can add more headaches to the operating scheme…
