New K-27 counterweights

On the Bachmann forum they just announced new counterweights.
I installed a prototype set Thurday morning on the last un-modified K-27 here, and if production units are anything like the prototype, it’s a good fix.
The shims always were a “field fix”, we were hoping this would happen, and it did.

Good Job Bachmann…good job listening to your base telling you they wanted a proper fix!

Great Job Dave seeing it through…heck in diagnosing it in the first place!

cale

…and the two ruddy experts never noticed the problem in the first place…egads…so much for “The Mad Hatter, Ames, Esq., and company”

Freddy.
At the MLS chat a week or so ago, Mr Ames denied there was a problem with the counterweights.

Then when faced with the irrefutable evidence, two minutes later barefacedly told all assembled,

MR Ames has been very sparse in his appearances since. I wonder why?

Tony,

Perhaps Mr Ames can’t stand the heat in the kitchen?

Considerable credit must go to Dave Goodson for his quick discovery of the problem and letting everyone know AND offering a fix, despite the fact he took initial heat from his comments from others that were in denial. I don’t think Dave will get an award plaque or dinner from Bachmann, but at least his credibility is affirmed once again by those that count.

Thank you again Dave for your past (and future) technical advice, and your willingness to share with all of us. I look forward to meeting you personally someday.
