Large Scale Central

New Buildings for the LCNGRR

Hi all I’ve not posted for a while as, well, I’ve not had much worth posting, but thought you might be interested in some buildings I’ve been working on for the Lavender Creek Narrow Gauge Railroad. First we have the very first structure I have built in G scale (well 1:24 actually)

It’s the trackside shanty from Smith Pond Junction, but I used a 3/16" ply shell rather than their detailed formwork, as with two lads running about, I didn’t think it was up to the rigours of the environment. Next is a Colorado Model Structures Section House, pretty much stock standard except for some ridge capping and light weathering

Finally, the one I went to town on was a Colorado Model Structures Virginia Mills kit. I was impressed by both kits as to how well they went together and they fit nicely within my budget. They are a little plain out of the packet though, so I added a loading dock, some extra chimneys, an office out the front (from the left overs where the loading dock went) and extended one of the little side wall insets out a bit to add some variety to the roof lines. It still needs some interior and window glazing, but I think it is starting to look the goods.

Next on the list is an SP narrow gauge turntable using Brewers Plans, then who knows what’s next (the lads want a station, so I suppose that will be at the top of the list). Cheers Tony

Looks good Tony…would like to see so more pics of your RR as it appears you have some nice planting’s etc!

I agree. Let's see some more. Ralph

Thanks gents I don’t have any real recent ones with the buildings in, but here is what it first looked like after planting

and a few months ago it looked like this

You can see the lavender in the centre that the railroad is named after. It’s gone berserk, every other lavender I’ve planted elsewhere has died, so I’m a little bit pleased with that one! Ground covers are Allisium and sedums, plus some “Tiny Trevs” for the trees and the occasional pine when I can get them. Cheers Tony

Cool RR…thanks!
Always nice to see fresh (meaning never seen) RR pics.
Love to see more!

Nice buildings I agree lets see some ore pictures.
