Large Scale Central

New boy: Kent & North Wales Light Railway

This is a post to say “hi” to the older-timers (the guys with the years of experience here …) on LSC. I´ve just joined and I look forward to participating. My layout is in Alsace, France and based upon UK prototypes, as it says in the name. Here´s a link to my pics and videos on Youtube to share. Regards, Andrew

P.S. And if your looking at my pics at the bottom of this post, reset your screen size to 25% (user defined; right hand corner of your Windows screen).

Welcome Andrew from one of the youg guys  Nice looking layout. Looking forward to more pictures.

Very nice Andrew. I like all the live steam motive power. You will find this to be a very nice site and very informative. Welcome aboard.

Nice layout!

Andrew, Welcome… nice layout…

Welcome Aboard - Andrew

Welcome aboard Andrew. Nice pics

Welcome indeed, Andrew, from just over La Manche and up a bit.

Kent & North Wales, eh? Well, bearing in mind that mrs tac and I spend a lot of time in North Wales - either playing trains with her brother, or riding trains around, I’m well able to keep my end of the conversation up there, but Kent? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. Can’t help you out there, not that you appear to need any help in that direction from the likes of me. We like the youtube, BTW.

More please.

Best wishes

tac, mrs tac and the family ig

And another pic, as promised. I´m afraid that these may come through as “on the large side” because of the high number of pixels … so take time to scroll across and down or reduce your screen size display to 25% (“user defined” in the bottom right hand corner of your screen). Any other ideas gratefully received. Regards, Andrew

And another frighteningly large pic. Hope I´ll find some way of reducing the size.

Did anybody else hear the confuser belch because of all the band width? Whew!!! Wonder what those pictures look like?

Welcome Andrew,
If you’re using Windows XP, here’s a free image resizer from Microsoft.

If you’re using Windows 7

Linux, I think you can resize with the Gimp. Not sure, as it’s been 5 or 6 years since I’ve used it.
Gimp also works on Windows.

If you’re on a Mac, I haven’t a clue

Welcome aboard! Nice layout. Do you need good ventilation to run live steam indoors?

Welcome Andrew…

Hi Ray, Ventilation? I just open the door. The guys who use alcohol-fuelled gauge 1 locos, tend to end up with watery eyes if they run live steam in the basement, but butane gas produces CO2 and the steam a little water vapour. But if you manage to set fire to something (don´t laugh) then you will end up with a room full of smoke pretty darn quick, so that´s more what I watch for. But then I´m thinking of building a place for the fire fighters to hand out - in scale of course … Keep in touch, Andrew

Nice! i checked out some of your videos, glad to see im not the only one using paper clips with the “link and pin” LOL

Unless of course you stick a little lump of coal in the smoke box. Smells great :D Not so sure the folks upstairs appreciate it though.

Sorry for the bandwith consumption, but every site is different  I´ve put some pics in the photo gallery under “Euro”. Regards, Andrew
