Perhaps TOC has data:
1 - Presumption is the NEW Shay is actually the previous version with the newly powered tender.
Is this presumption accurate?
2 - Second, are there any mechanical improvements or structural changes in the new version worthwhile noting?

I suspect it has the new cast metal power trucks under it,…
The ‘test shot’ shown at the Santa Clara, CA NGRRC was a modified two trucker. It does have the new die cast trucks, but virtually all the plastic except the bunkers and a few detail parts were directly from the 38 tonner.

There’s a bit of a debate on the B-mann board about whether the 3 truck version will have some versions with a steel cab and some that are the original version’s wood panelled cab … or whether they’re all wood panelled.
Anyone know for sure?
