NEW Bachmann LS Switcher?

Bob…not too much there that interest me…

I was/am speaking in terms of a Large Scale Train Ele interface…Plug and Play-across the board-all manf (excuse the pun)…

As he bites his tongue - ‘Davey’ looks a bit of all right if into that sort of thing. The long caboose should find ready acceptance.

Cale,

Are you wanting the interface to be for large scale only & if so why?? The 8 pin socket can work in HO & N scale, but could be used in any of the other scales… There is nothing in the standard that says it will only work in HO or N scale… The Bachmann Porters that I have draw less than 1 amp, does that mean they need a large scale socket only?? What about the new 21 pin socket that Lenz is coming out with, should it be only for HO & N scale??

I don’t need any socket. period. wouldn’t mind some screw terminals…but if there must be a standard socket for LS then yes it should be tough enough to encompass the big draw engines and all types of control…I don’t see someone like Cozad or Bangs only wanting a 1 amp circuit…I do battery only, so it doesn’t matter to me what any DCC manf produces, I’m not going to use it. Kevin Strong had a brilliant review of the Bmann board in the last GR mag…he is on the working group for Standards and when it comes to the Board Standards…and as he mentioned there…it’s a long way out and many versions will prob arise until it’s settled…until then, I believe it’s premature to call anything in LS a “standard” except the standard differences all manf place inside their engines.
