Since I’m a serious Pacific Coast Railway fan, I immediately compared Bachmann’s test shot pix to the drawing and picture of PCRwy. gondola #1221 in Kenneth E. Westcott & Curtiss H. Johnson’s “[i]The Pacific Coast Railway[i]”. All the visible details look perfect. I assume Curt Johnson provided the design information.
Brilliant job on the tank cars too!!! There hasn’t been an affordable OTS narrow frame or frameless tank car for 1:20.3 NG fans. I do have one Accucraft ‘tank on a flatcar’ and need a few more tankers. I had been hoping for either a narrow frame or frameless tankcar. Suddenly both are available. Exciting stuff.
This is very good news for 1:20.3 scale and for LS model RRing. Applause to Bachmann!!
