Tim Brien said:AristoCraft had to have a necessary price rise for the Revolution ESC, so what better way of covering that and making yourself look really generous in the process, is to include a FREE sound system? The MSRP price juggling occurs when balancing the actual cost of the sound, relative to the price increase. Sure there were development costs that have to be amortised, usually over a big production run, but the actual cost of the added hardware is very little. Maybe US$5 extra plus the spread of development costs.
Mark, SNIP The additional cost of sound could have been simply incorporated in a manufacturer price hike, thus the sound feature would be at 'no additional cost' and thus a 'bargain' (and beyond criticism). To raise the price to include the compulsory sound feature is a turn off for me. If you pay for it or are expected to do so then you reserve the right to criticise the feature.
Hence my comments in the earlier post.
