Large Scale Central

New and improved Dunkirk

This is from my ideas page I posted a while back and got great ideas from everyone. Here is what it look likes after getting a make over. I still have a few little things to add but the bulk of it is done. Basicaly I took the front bumper off the trucks and mounted them to the frame. I had to extend the bumper by using some wood. Then I put the plastic stock bumper on the wood (Worked out to be a perfect fit. Then I added an aire tank and some lines from my big hauler. Pole pockets were added as well as some tools and a back light. I also replaced the front light with something smaller. New

Phase one

Phase two

WOW what an improvement , looks so much better , good eye . This is my pick shot . Your layout is really nice .

Shawn,
Very good!
Your backwoods logging railroad is coming along nicely.

Looking good Shawn that work car you built for the challenge should look great behind it. If you get a chance can you get a little more distant photo with that new car in tow?

Nice update. It looks quite a bit more modern with the electric headlamp and air tank. But now you need a generator and air pump :o

Very nice transformation Shawn. I like the lines of the lokey very much. As to Jon’s good suggestion for a generator, in case you feel you lack the space: the West Side Lumber Co. installed generators on the running boards on some of their Shays.

Again, you’ve created a great looking locomotive!

Ah yes - I missed that air pump in the shadows.

Engne rework looks great, Shawn…

Great work, Shawn. That loco looks so much better now.

Shawn,
Your work on the Dunkirk/HLWBig John has really improved the engine and caused a great deal of interest here. Amazing how details and paint bring the details to the surface. Good work!

Thanks guys. Dave I will try to get some pictures with the work car tomorrow.

I still want to add the coupler lift bars but could not find any on ozark site. They look easy to make except I cat find a close up picture of one so I know how they go and work. Any idea where I can get a good picture unless ozark has them.
