Large Scale Central

New Addition to the Redwood Creek & Tallulah Ridge Railroad

I’ve been working the past week on modifying my existing mainline by rerouting a section against the fence making way the creation of an additional loop so I can run two trains independently. The new loop will have some tighter curves so I plan to only run my smaller stuff.

Work so far has not been too difficult except for the mid 80s temps that I’m not quite used to yet. Thankfully most of the work is in the shade.

Is that wood or the HDPE “plastic wood?

It’s actually Veranda PVC siding material. The sides are 1 5/8" x 12’ and the spacer blocks are 1 5/8" square cut from a 12’ piece. I get it at Home Depot.

Noticed that you are building sub roadbed very similar to what I’m doing.
Was wondering where you’re located and if you’ve found anything that you’ve changed along the way?

Well I was about 90% sure you were real close to the college itself, if I remember right. It is one layout I really want to visit.

Yes, we are down Eymann close to the river. If you are in the area this summer let me know. We are trying to keep the layout up since about 90% is in the shade. I’m having a little hip replacement surgery at the end June but have been told I’d be up walking a little right away.

thanks for the offer, Might be there around 20th for a few days. Will let you know once I am for sureof dates and schedules

Pete,

If you are meaning June 20th we will be in Sacramento at the National Garden Railroad Conference. We come home Sunday. So if you are still here Monday or Tuesday we can certainly work something out.

Oh dang forgot about that !!! For sure will be back in October for granddaughters birthday
